Our Story...

How We Got Here...
We purchased our farm in Feb of 2020 at the height of COVID. It is an 8 acre farm in a moderate state of disrepair and land that had been overtaken by weeds and brambles in Adam’s county PA. We knew that we wanted to start an animal santuary one day but it seemed too large a goal looking at the state of the farm and only being 2 people. Between studying for MCAT’s and starting med school, Peyton spent any time she had fixing things. Broken wire fence was removed, new fence posts hand dug and new fencing put up. The dogs have a huge area with a 10 x 14 house with AC and radiant heat. The horses have a 20 x 40, 2 stall barn and a 20 x 30 run in shed. The water hydrants have been replaced, new wiring put in and a dry lot made. Several acres of the land are now usable as pasture, hayfield, or dog run. Slowly we accquired equipment off of FB Marketplace and have attempted to repair it to use. WE still haev a long way to go, equipment needed, parts needed, or expertise to fix it for use.
To date 5 dogs and 4 cats have been given a home from shelters, 2 cats saved off the street, 1 turtle, and 1 snake accepted to our sanctuary in addition to the pets who were rescued before we were a sanctuary and those who were purchased years before who now serve as educational ambassadors.
I was recently able to file the documents to make Fair’s Haven Farm officially a non-profit 501(c)3 despite running it as such since it started. The plan is to continue to expand to save more animals and give them a forever home filled with love and acceptance while providing education to the public on proper care. WE hope to accomplish all of this despite only being run by 3 people who must have jobs to support this mission.
